Education and Community Engagement
Ordway offers a comprehensive arts participation program for teachers and students that includes:
- A school performance series presenting artists and art forms from around the world
- In-school residencies and workshops led by experienced teaching artists
- Professional development for teachers
Whether you are attending a performance to strengthen a curricular area, glimpse a particular art form, or discover the Center, please consider ways our staff might assist in extending the experience. Look to our website for additional tools. You will find media downloads for upcoming performances, downloadable study guides and further opportunities for classroom engagement designed to support your classroom work.
We offer $3 tickets and bus subsidies for all schools. See our current Performing Arts Classrooms season >>
Local and National Parterships
Ordway partners with both Minneapolis and Saint Paul Public Schools through the Kennedy Center’s Partners in Education program. This partnership is unique to this country because it links a major Performing Arts Center with two major urban districts. The program is a network of arts organizations and school districts for which Kennedy Center leverages resources to assist in the creation of professional development programs through the arts.
