STATUS. Part-time/temporary/volunteer

HOURS. 20-25 hours per week, with specific days and hours to be arranged.
POSTING DATE. March 2010.
Job Purpose
This position is responsible for assisting the HR Associate with a variety of departmental needs related to the Ordway’s Human Resources Management Process.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Update and maintain internal and external job/volunteer postings via the job line, Ordway Center website, employee bulletin board, external websites, media advertisements, industry mailing and email lists (listservs).
- Check references for job/volunteer applicants.
- Create, organize, and maintain all job files: personnel, applicant search, resources, surveys, and archives.
- Update, copy and collate forms and benefit materials for new employee orientations, employee and safety handbooks.
- Research, prepare, conduct, evaluate and document training programs as requested.
- Track applicant statistics for Affirmative Action, assist in completion of semi-annual Affirmative Action statistical reports.
- Assist with employee recognition programs, staff events, and recruitment job fairs. Coordinate the Annual United Way campaign.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION. Currently enrolled in or recently completed a bachelor or graduate degree with a major or related course work in human resources, arts administration, or non-profit business management.
EXPERIENCE. Prior clerical or administrative support experience in a theatre, non-profit, education or cultural environment a plus.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY. Proficiency in Microsoft Office for Windows preferred, and computer aptitude required. Must possess ability to work effectively with the public; be detail oriented, flexible, and have a great sense of humor. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to problem solve.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED. Computer, printer, telephone, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and general office equipment, automobile.
