2018-2019 Season Auditions

Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol

Set in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, mining company boss Ebenezer Scrooge meets the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, rekindling a spark of humanity in his hardened heart. A live acoustic band brings Parton’s original score to life in this “concert style” presentation of a musical reimagining of a holiday classic.

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts is seeking both AEA and non-AEA actors to play multiple characters in a staged reading presentation of a new musical with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton entitled: Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol. This will be the world premiere of this new musical, and will be presented in the Ordway Concert Hall with minimal staging in a concert-style / “reading” format.

Casting:

  • 8 adult roles
  • 1 child role age 9-12 as Tiny Tim (either male or female)

AEA, non-AEA and actors of all genders and self-identified ethnicities are encouraged to apply.

The employment term is for one week including rehearsals and three performances, scheduled as follows:

Rehearsals will be Tuesday, November 13 through Friday, November 16.
