SAINT PAUL, Minnesota (March 13, 2020) — The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts announced today that it will postpone all Ordway-presented events through April 19, 2020. The decision was made following Governor Tim Walz’s recommendation to cancel all events that would bring groups of 250 or more together in a shared space.

“We know the Ordway’s decision has a great impact on the arts community, our staff, our audiences, the artists we work with, and the broader Saint Paul community,” said Jamie Grant, Ordway President and CEO. “However, while this may be disappointing news for many of us, the health, safety and well-being of our community is of the utmost importance during this uncertain time.”

The Ordway remains committed to the health and safety of our guests, artists, and staff and will continue to closely monitor updates about COVID-19 (Coronavirus) from health organizations, local and state governments, and the performing arts community.

The following performances will be postponed:
  • Danú, March 20

  • Classic Albums Live presents Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Green River, March 21

  • Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, March 22

  • The Color Purple, March 31-April 5

  • Sting starring in The Last Ship, April 8-19

  • Nooky Jones: Soul of the Twin Cities, April 10

In addition, the following Ordway special events will change. Further communication about the schedule updates will be forthcoming.

  • Broadway at the Ordway 2020-2021 Season Launch Party, March 23. The Ordway will still announce its new season, but the in-person event will be canceled.

  • The Ordway Spring Fête, previously scheduled for April 18, will be postponed. Those planning to attend this event will receive a separate notification.

Ordway ticketholders have four options to consider during this peacetime emergency declaration: hold their tickets for the rescheduled event, convert tickets to a gift certificate, apply the total of the tickets purchased towards a season subscription, donate tickets, or receive a full refund.

As a nonprofit, the Ordway relies on the support of ticket buyers and donors. Donated funds go a long way to sustain the Ordway. Guests may contact the Ticket Office directly but it should be noted that the Ticket Office is experiencing higher than average call volume. The Ticket Office is available by email at weborders@ordway.org.
