The Together In Hope Project in partnership with USA for UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency) presents The Stranger, a new musical work for choir and orchestra commissioned to raise global awareness about refugees and displaced persons. The Stranger was composed by Kim André Arnesen, one of the most frequently-performed contemporary choral composers.

This hour-long concert work includes first-person immigrant poetry and religious texts from many faith traditions, written to awaken and activate a world where all are respected, included and welcome. The plight of refugees is one of the most critical issues of our time, not only in the U.S. but globally. More than 100 million people worldwide have been forced to flee their homes—the highest levels of displacement on record.

The U.S. premiere of The Stranger will take place on Saturday, October 15, at 7:30 PM and Sunday, October 16, at 3:30 PM at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
