At FAB, you can make or try an instrument, learn new dance moves, or try your hand at costume and sound design. And every 20 minutes, a new show or concert will start inside the two performance spaces. This free event is emceed by the vibrant Liz Lassiter.
Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase, plus free coffee for adults.
Greeters with American Sign Language (ASL), English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, and Karen language abilities will be at the main entrance to the building to welcome you, answer questions, and direct you to various activities or locations.

Join instructors from contemporary dance company TU Dance in a child and parent/caregiver creative movement experience that engages the senses of curiosity and play. Or learn some fun and foundational hip hop dance moves with House of Dance Twin Cities in an interactive session.

Mermaid Theatre brings to life a beloved children’s story through their unique style of puppetry and black light. Adapted from Margaret Wise Brown’s 60-year-old classic children’s book, Goodnight Moon is a celebration of familiar nighttime rituals that features animal puppets and stunning scenic effects based on Clement Hurd’s illustrations, and evocative musical accompaniment.

With Xpressive Xplorchestra, come along on the journey as acclaimed storyteller and actor T. Mychael Rambo tells a unique story, accompanied by a woodwind quintet of SPCO musicians performing the music of trailblazing African American composer William Grant Still.
As talented high school musicians perform On the Town by Leonard Bernstein, from the Broadway musical of the same name, audience members will go on a scavenger hunt to discover things in the concert hall “city” — and get an up-close view of the instruments of the orchestra!
Project Opera is opera by kids, for kids. Hear excerpts from Odyssey, based on Homer’s epic poem, by one of the only full youth opera programs in the country. Perfect for the youngest opera goers!
