Planning your day
With exciting indoor performances, multiple outdoor stages, and free activities all around the Ordway, there’s hundreds of ways to play at the Flint Hills Family Festival! If you want to try a little bit of everything, start by picking out one (or two, or all four!) of the featured shows. These ticketed performances take place on indoor stages several times throughout the Festival, and tickets are only $8–$13. They’re a perfect way to share a magical live performance with kids of all ages—and to take a break from the summer sun!
Once you’ve picked out your big shows, check out our full event schedule and make a wish list to plan a fun day of Festival activities. In Rice Park, the Wells Fargo Family Plaza, and the surrounding areas, you and your family can learn a new kind of dance, hear music from all over the world, get your faces painted, or make a new balloon animal friend, all for free. The park is open for all hours of the Festival, so if you want to be spontaneous, you can also take a stroll through the grounds and see what adventures you find.
The Festival takes place in the Ordway, Rice Park, and the Wells Fargo Family Plaza, located in the heart of downtown Saint Paul. Thanks to our friends at Metro Transit, bus rides to the Festival are free! See below for more details. There are also several places to park nearby, and you can find directions and parking ideas online to plan your trip ahead of time.
