Ordway's accessibility services and accommodations
Finding accessible performances at the Ordway
The Ordway is committed to addressing barriers to participation that can restrict access to the performing arts for youth, adults, and organizations. Partnerships with community leaders such as Upstream Arts and the Minnesota Autism Center, as well as an active role in the Minnesota Access Alliance, are helping to lead the Ordway beyond mere compliance—toward an inclusive environment where programs and employment are accessible to all.
Select performances and events have scheduled access services, including American Sign Language interpretation, audio description, open captioning, or sensory-friendly designations.

Accessible seating includes designated spaces for individuals who use wheelchairs or need aisle transfer seats and companion seats. The Ordway Music Theater has accessible seats on the orchestra and mezzanine levels, as well as in balcony box right. Reserved seating for individuals with low vision, who are hard of hearing, who use American Sign Language interpretation, or who use open captioning is subject to availability.
The Ordway Concert Hall has aisle seats with arms that swing away at select locations, allowing people to easily transfer into a seat from a wheelchair, walker, or other assistive device. There are also some locations reserved for guests who would wish to remain in their wheelchair at the rear of the main floor on the left or right, as well as locations in the tier 1 and tier 2 levels.
View a detailed seating chart for the Music Theater or the Concert Hall that shows the location of accessible seating.
The Ordway strives to provide the best possible service to all guests. When selecting accessible seating online, guests must immediately confirm following affidavit before moving forward with purchase:
"This space is for patrons who use a wheelchair. There is NO PHYSICAL SEAT. By selecting this space you acknowledge that you, or a member of your party, requires accessible seating."
The Ordway reserves the right to investigate the potential misuse of accessible seating. Alternate seating is not guaranteed, and orders may be voided.
