Save the date to celebrate

2025 marks a year of milestones at the Ordway! For 40 years, the Ordway has been a cornerstone of exceptional artistic, educational, and cultural experiences, offering everything from Broadway musicals to live concerts, captivating dance, and thought-provoking speakers.

This legacy began with Sally Ordway Irvine’s bold vision to create a world-class performing arts center in the heart of Saint Paul. Sally’s determination and generosity, combined with support from her family, corporations, foundations, and both public and private donors, brought this dream to life. Since opening its doors in 1985, the Ordway has been a vibrant home for artistic excellence, with a steadfast commitment to making the arts accessible to all.

A place for lots of music—no, lots of everything! And for everybody!

— Sally Ordway Irvine

Sunday, September 21, 2025

Mark your calendar! The Ordway is proud to be able to share these upcoming anniversaries with the community that made them possible. On Sunday, September 21, 2025, we invite you to an Open House celebrating three extraordinary milestones. In collaboration with our arts partners—Minnesota Opera, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and Schubert Club—we’ll honor our past, celebrate our present, and imagine the future together.

40th anniversary of the Ordway

For four decades, the Ordway has been a hub of artistic excellence and community connection. It showcases world-class performances and fosters a passion for the arts across generations.

The 25th annual Flint Hills Family Festival

Since its inaugural event in 2001, the Ordway’s Flint Hills Family Festival has welcomed over one million students and families to downtown Saint Paul to celebrate the vibrant cultures and artists that make our city unique.

10th anniversary of the Concert Hall

Building on the legacy of the McKnight Theatre, the opening of the Concert Hall expanded the Ordway’s capacity to host exquisite live performances and special events, further solidifying our place as a premier destination for artists and audiences alike.
