In A New Day Part 2, veteran performers will utilize a cabaret format to examine the social political struggles and moment of self-actualization portrayed through musical theater. Songs like “The Age of Aquarius” in the musical Hair gave voice to concerns about the Vietnam War. A group of hip hop revolutionaries sing about their hopes for the future in “My Shot” from Hamilton. Additionally The Color Purple, Ragtime, Rent, Wicked, Fun Home and Hairspray, have given musical writers the stage as their platform to give voice to the political and social beliefs of their time.
Please note this performance may contain mature themes.
