Ramsey Lewis and Urban Knights

Ordway Concert Hall

Update for Ramsey Lewis ticket holders:

Jazz legend Ramsey Lewis has cancelled all of his upcoming performances, including the one scheduled for October 21 at the Ordway.

The 83-year-old Grammy winner, who is still healthy, has decided that after seven decades, the strenuous demands of touring have taken a toll on him.

Ann Hampton Callaway, who has performed with Lewis in recent years, will instead take his place on October 21. She will perform a tribute show with his longtime band, the Urban Knights. Visit ordway.org/event/ann-hampton-callaway-urban-knights for more information about this event.

Callaway is a platinum award-winning writer and one of the leading champions of the great American Songbook. Callaway was named as a “Performer of the Year” by Broadwayworld.com.

Through his manager, Lewis has offered his sincerest apologies. He also wants his fans and others to know that that decision to stop touring was a difficult one. Lewis plans to continue to make records and has a new one scheduled for release in 2019. Lewis has publicly contemplated retirement in recent months.

The Ordway will call ticketholders about Ms. Hampton Callaway’s appearance and will offer refunds to those who request them. Please contact the Ordway Ticket Office at 651.224.4222 with any questions.
