Fire Shut Up in My Bones

A Conversation with Terence Blanchard, Torrie Allen, and Chris Harrington

 The Arts Partnership will host a concert version featuring excerpts from Terence Blanchard's historic opera Fire Shut Up in My Bones performed on Sunday afternoon, February 23 at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. The Metropolitan Opera opened its season with this work in 2021—the first in its 138 years written by an African American Composer, Terence Blanchard.

Chris Harrington, President and CEO for the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, and Torrie Allen, President and CEO at Arts Midwest, will host a virtual webinar conversation with the incredible artist and composer Terence Blanchard.  They will explore this impressive work, its significance, and provide a preview of what Minnesota audiences will experience later this month at the show concert. It's an honor that such an important creation will be in Minnesota.
